Private Residence - Princeton, New Jersey

This 1915 Colonial Revival house in the western section of Princeton has been completely reinvigorated in two phases – one that adapted the house for today’s lifestyle and another, completed in 2011, which involved an addition to the rear of the house, more than doubling its original size.   The addition was designed to be as seamless as possible and reflective of the original style of the house.   We obtained local zoning variances in order to build to a size appropriate to the neighborhood, especially challenging on a lot less than sixty feet wide.
The result is a new kitchen/breakfast area (the former kitchen was converted to a butler’s pantry) family room, music room, powder room on the first floor, with a new master suite and other bedrooms along with a laundry room on the second floor and attic level.   A finished, multi-purpose basement with workshop, mudroom and other spaces completes the addition.
